Remind me that on July 16th this blog will be 1 year old. Okay?
Every year my family goes to a baseball game of the local AAA Baseball affiliate right around the 4th of July. Right after the game they have a big fireworks display. We've done it the past several years and it's a neat little tradition we have. It was on the 3rd this year.
At the baseball game, my niece (I'll just call her my niece for ease of explanation) brought her newly-delivered twins. They are twin girls that weigh 3 and 4 pounds respectively. Yes, they're small (preemies) but they are SOOO cute! Everyone should have the ability to hold a baby and see a real live naked woman whenever they want. Man-law!
On the actual 4th, I was over at my brother's house watching him light off fireworks just past his back yard. Driving home from his house I thought about the blatant disregard for the law that people have on the 4th of July -- you see, in the commonwealth of Virginia fireworks are illegal.
I hate to keep harping on my new job but I just have one observation and I'll be done: I love having energy when I come home at night. I used to come home and just slump on the couch. Now I come home and I actually feel like doing stuff around the house that I need to get done.
It's great.
Okay, I'm done.
Bought the new Sheryl Crow CD recently. she's one of the artists I just buy without having to hear a note. Dave Matthews, Sting and Sade are on that list as well. The album "Wildflower" is a good solid offering. I listened to "C'mon C'mon" and was unimpressed. I actually wondered why she put it out. She could have released "Soak Up The Sun" and "Steve McQueen" as singles and been done with it.
"Wildflower" does her image much better... at least that's what I think. To hell with what you think. I DO think that her version of "Always On Your Side" is better when she's joined by Sting (see reference to Sting above). I happened to hear that version first (before the album version, which is just her). Pick the album up, it's worth a listen.
I'll try and do something special with the blog when it turns 1.
