Still trying to recover

Finally had some plans on a Friday night. One of the guys I work with is in a band and a group of us from the office went to see him play last night. The way it was originally put to me is that the show started at 8. Then I heard that his band wasn't starting to play until 9:30. In reality, they didn't go on until 11 because there were a couple of other bands that came on before them.

My clothes were vibrated clean they were so loud. As smart as I am, though... I brought my earplugs. As crazy as that sounds I could hear the band much better and my ears weren't ringing afterwards.

Before the show, a large part of the group met at a local sports bar -- with a country flair. One of the women that I work with (and was not expecting to see there) was there with her sister. Let's just say her sister was a little hottie and be done with it. Hottie-sis and I played a game of pool and I was Mr. Glib -- by losing the game because I sunk the eight-ball on one of my shots. I even told her I would probably do that. I think I jinxed myself.

That's all I can think of for now. I'll write more later.

Top 10 Cartoon Duo's

This time out the subject is Top 10 Cartoon Duo’s. I was only going to make this a Top 5 list but I had so many entries to work with, I added the last 5. Here’s the list is no particular order – wait, that’s not right… 10. Ren & Stimpy: Call this entry the ‘Odd Couple’ of the group. A cat and a dog (I think) living together and making their way despite their obvious instincts to be sworn enemies. Lunch with a side of awkward

Last week I was sitting in my office wondering what to eat for lunch since I didn’t bring anything to eat. I happened to be in our break room and saw a collection of restaurant menus and began thumbing through them for suggestions. I came across a place that I had heard of but had never been to, so I decided to go there – mostly because of how close it was to the office. I walked in and looked around. The place was empty. There was a table of 4 ladies in the corner who looked like your basic bridge-playing women. Sitting in the booth next to them was another couple that looked like they were wrapping things up in order to leave. Finally a server appeared and seated me at a table across the aisle from the foursome. By then, the other couple had left. As I looked around, I noticed a lot of the place was made of or covered in wood. Neighbors

I must admit that my neighbors haven’t given me much of an issue lately but that’s only because they haven’t been to their house lately. Let me catch you up. For a number of years I have lived next to this average family. They are of African-American descent, but that doesn’t really factor much into this story. The father looks like he worked a physical job – maybe construction – but is retired due to disability. He walks around his yard sort of like Fred Sanford. A while back I recall seeing an older daughter but I think she’s long since moved away. The two sons I see quite a bit. They seem to be moving all the time. If they’re not coming from or going to work, one of their friends is coming by to pick them up and they’re off. I only know this because I hear the loud music being played when people are coming or going.
